Frequently Asked Questions

Learn more about Resumation's AI Intelligence Layer and how contextual search works.

About the Demo

What is this demo?
This is a demonstration of Resumation's AI Intelligence Layer - a contextual search engine that goes beyond keyword matching to understand the full story of a candidate's career. It showcases how STAR achievements, career preferences, and cultural fit data can transform talent discovery.
Is this real candidate data?
No. All profiles in this demo are synthetic examples created for demonstration purposes. They showcase the types of rich, structured data that Resumation captures - but no real individuals are represented.
How many searches can I do?
You can perform up to 10 searches per session (24-hour expiry). To see more or discuss implementation for your organization, please book a demo.

How It Works

What makes this different from keyword search?
Traditional ATS systems match keywords. Resumation understands context. When you search for "someone who scaled a startup," we interpret that as needing growth experience, leadership capability, and measurable impact - then find candidates with proven evidence across all those dimensions.
What is a STAR achievement?
STAR stands for Situation, Task, Action, Result. It's a structured format for capturing accomplishments with full context. Unlike resume bullets that just state outcomes, STAR achievements tell the complete story of what someone faced, what they owned, what they did, and what resulted.
How is scoring determined?
AI-powered matching with fully auditable results. We use AI to interpret your query and extract facets - the scoring uses transparent formulas based on evidence found in candidate profiles. This ensures consistency and makes every ranking decision explainable.
What are facets?
Facets are the individual requirements extracted from your query. For example, "enterprise sales leader with SaaS experience" might extract facets like: Leadership Experience, Enterprise Sales, SaaS Industry. Each facet is scored separately, then combined for an overall match score.

Match Categories

What does "Best Match" mean?
Best Match indicates candidates in the top 2% with scores of 80%+ who have strong, validated evidence across most or all query facets. These are exceptionally rare - for typical queries, you might see 0-2 Best Matches out of 100 candidates.
Why do I see mostly "Consider" results?
Our philosophy is "You can't have a perfect match to an imperfect question." Vague queries intentionally cap scores lower. If you want to see more Best Matches, add specificity to your search - industry, scale, specific skills, years of experience.
Why did someone get 0%?
A 0% score means we found no validated evidence matching your query facets. The candidate may have relevant experience not captured in their profile, or they may genuinely lack the specific experience you're searching for.

Privacy & Compliance

Is my search data logged?
Queries are logged anonymously to help us improve search quality and understand common talent needs. No personal information is collected or stored from demo users.
Is scoring fair and auditable?
Yes. All scoring is based solely on job-related qualifications and verified achievements. Our handlers never consider protected characteristics. Every ranking decision is fully auditable and defensible.

For Your Organization

Can we use this for our own candidates?
Absolutely. Resumation can be deployed as your organization's talent intelligence layer. We support both internal mobility (finding talent within your company) and recruiting (matching external candidates to roles). Book a demo to discuss implementation.
How do candidates create profiles?
Candidates complete a structured profile capture process that extracts STAR achievements, career preferences, culture fit indicators, and more. This typically takes 15-30 minutes and creates a rich, searchable profile that goes far beyond a resume.
What integrations are available?
We offer options to export data and can work with you on API access for your existing ATS systems, HRIS platforms, and internal mobility tools. Standalone deployment and white-label solutions are also available. Contact us to discuss your specific integration needs.
Can partners adjust scoring weights?
Yes. Enterprise partners can configure facet weights to align with their specific hiring priorities (e.g., prioritize leadership experience over technical depth). All weight adjustments are logged for audit compliance and require written justification. Changes are reviewed quarterly to ensure fair, consistent matching.
